We are seeking a Logistics and Transport Management Trainee. This role will focus on developing practical experience within a supply chain. Tasks include coordinating transportation, optimizing routes, and managing inventory.
Responsibilities
- Transportation Coordination: Organizing and overseeing the movement of goods including selecting appropriate modes of transport, scheduling deliveries, and tracking shipments.
- Route Optimization: Utilizing software and data analysis to find the most efficient and cost-effective routes for transportation.
- Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collecting and analysing data related to logistics operations and preparing reports for management to identify areas for improvement.
- Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and resolving issues that arise during the transportation process such as delays, damage, or discrepancies.
- Compliance: Ensuring all logistics activities comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
- Education: A degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, identify trends and make informed decisions.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with various stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve issues related to transportation and logistics.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using logistics software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail are important for ensuring accurate record-keeping and efficient operations.
- Financial Acumen: Must be able to grasp financial concepts.
