Job description

Hire Resolve's client in the manufacturing industry is seeking a Financial Manager to join their team which is located in Cape Town. You will be responsible for overseeing financial operations while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting principles. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company's financial strategy and growth objectives. This position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments.

Responsibilities
  • Submit monthly EMP201 (PAYE/UIF/SDL) returns to SARS
  • Prepare monthly Management Accounts and Analysis for review by directors
  • Assist with BEE compliance
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to improve financial performance and meet the company's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate all financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly financial statements, budgets, cash flow, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Manage the company's relationship with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and other financial institutions.
  • Monitor and manage working capital requirements, liquidity, and cash flow to optimize financial performance.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support on operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws to ensure compliance and identify potential risks or opportunities.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high‑quality work and professional development.
Requirements
  • B.Com with CA qualification or B. Com with Financial Management experience
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Financial Manager or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and reporting standards (IFRS).
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial statement analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial planning and analysis software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide insights for decision making.
  • Solid experience in managing accounting operations and financial controls.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
