Job description

Start in January / February 2026! Well-known Manufacturing concern, based in Rosslyn (Pretoria North), has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join their team. Report to the Financial Manager and be responsible for maintaining financial records and reports, perform account reconciliations, assist with budget and close processes, perform analysis ie. expense and other variance analysis, insurance and tax, preparing returns and submissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Manage accounting operations including fixed assets and revenue recognition
  • Prepare AFS and disclosure schedules
  • Perform expense analysis and financial data analysis
  • Assist with stock counts
  • Payroll reconciliations and accounting journals
  • Monthly GL maintenance and reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed asset register, WIP account, and ensure IFRS compliance
  • Handle lease accounting in accordance with IFRS
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly management accounts
  • Prepare AFS for all group entities
  • Co-ordinate regulatory reporting
  • Bank signatory : review & release local / foreign payments and payroll
  • Maintain loan schedules & quarterly shareholder loan confirmations
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting
  • Prepare budget analysis and reports
  • Prepare and submit all tax returns (VAT, Income Tax, PAYE, Withholding Tax, Carbon Tax, etc.)
  • Ensure full SARS compliance and deadline management
  • Co-ordinate and participate in audits
  • Handle annual insurance risk declarations & finance risk management
  • Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance

Requirements

➡ B.Com Accounting degree (minimum)

➡ 5 years’ relevant accounting experience within a manufacturing environment

➡ Newly qualified CA(SA) – highly advantageous

➡ Experience with JDE / QlikView / Hubble – desired

➡ Strong technical accounting knowledge and excellent attention to detail
