Job summary

A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a Finance Manager for South Africa, East Africa, and Nigeria. This role involves managing financial transactions, ensuring tax compliance, and collaborating with auditors. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Accounting, a minimum of 10 years of experience in audit or a multinational environment, and should preferably have experience in pharmaceuticals. Proficiency in SAP and excellent communication skills in English are essential.

Job description

An exciting opportunity has opened up within our company. We are looking to hire a Finance Manager covering the South Africa, East Africa, and Nigeria businesses for all statutory matters, key projects, and reporting for these countries/clusters.

Responsibilities
  • Manage financial transactions (AP, AR, general accounting, and all IFRS & local GAAP-related specifics in SAP HANA).
  • Ensure internal control procedures are complied with for all financial transactions. Act as a guardian for governance and continuously improve procedures for agility and reliability of financial information.
  • Ensure all tax filings are compliant and up to date, guaranteeing fiscal compliance in all transactions.
  • Manage monthly closings in full and on time (IFRS closings and reporting).
  • Collaborate with Auditors in conducting internal and external audits. Make sure all auditing reports are on time.
  • Collaborate with the team and global service hubs for all closing and reporting steps and deadlines.
  • Ensure account reconciliation and monitor the legal audit smoothly and successfully.
  • Serve as the point of contact with all internal departments and external stakeholders for accounting transactions to ensure business flow and results.
  • Collaborate effectively on all financial and tax projects related to all countries in the region, as well as global projects whenever requested.
  • Assist in special projects, ad hoc analysis and tasks as needed.
Who You Are
  • Master's degree in Accounting and Finance, with a Chartered Accounting diploma, MBA, or a master's in tax or audit.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Agile in using IT tools and Microsoft applications, with a preference for SAP users (HANA version).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an audit firm and/or multinational company.
  • Preference for previous experience in pharmaceutical companies.
