Job summary

A prominent equipment management company in South Africa seeks a Facilities Manager to supervise maintenance, manage financial aspects, and ensure safety standards. The ideal candidate should have a Facilities Diploma and several years of experience in management. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, overseeing building maintenance and operations. Strong Microsoft Office skills and effective communication abilities are essential.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years’ experience in Facilities Management would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day maintenance of buildings and facilities.
  • Draft maintenance plan with costing.
  • Serve as the Emergency Response Coordinator.
  • Oversee monthly inspection of portable electrical equipment.
  • Schedule and supervise preventative maintenance.

Key outputs
Safety
  • Serve as the facility Emergency Response Coordinator
  • Attend the Health and Safety Committee meetings
Building Management
  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds and facilities systems
  • Maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws
  • Respond to reactive maintenance issues timeously
  • Ensure the effective maintenance and management of Barloworld Equipment’s motor vehicle
  • Supervise and co-ordinate works with contractors.
  • Ensure all suppliers adhere to company policies while on site.
  • Submit weekly building inspection reports
  • Oversee monthly inspection of portable electrical equipment, kitchen areas, ablution facilities, fire detection/equipment and other (as required)
  • Schedule and supervise preventative maintenance and liaise with Landlord where applicable
  • Plan, guide and supervise all gardening maintenance and improvements
  • Capture monthly water and electricity meter reading
  • SLA/KPI management for Soft and Hard services
  • Responsible for drafting scope of work for Facilities related RFQ/RFPs as per Procurement procedures
Financial Management
  • Draft maintenance plan with costing
  • Analyse quotes received from contractors for cost optimisation
Qualification, Experience And Competencies
