Job description

As an Exports Logistics Coordinator at Botle Buhle Brands, you will play a crucial role in managing the export logistics operations of the company. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the export process, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing supply chain efficiency, and delivering products to international customers on time. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, external partners, and customers to streamline logistics operations and drive continuous improvement in export processes.

WHAT YOU WILL GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO...

  • Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end export logistics process, including scheduling shipments, arranging transportation, and managing customs procedures.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements, forecast demand, and develop efficient shipping plans to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Negotiate contracts and rates with freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics providers to secure cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions.
  • Prepare and review export documentation, such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and export declarations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Work closely with customs brokers and regulatory authorities to facilitate the smooth clearance of export shipments and address any customs-related issues promptly.
  • Monitor shipment status, proactively identify potential delays or disruptions, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
  • Maintain detailed records of all export activities, including shipment details, costs, documentation, and compliance records, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Provide regular communication to internal teams, external partners, and customers regarding shipment status, delivery updates, and any logistics issues impacting operations.
  • Stay abreast of changes in export regulations, trade agreements, and industry trends to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement in export logistics processes.
  • Analyse key performance indicators related to export logistics, such as on-time delivery rates, transportation costs, and inventory levels, to identify opportunities for optimisation and cost reduction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise supply chain efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve overall operational performance in export logistics.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of logistics service providers, evaluate their performance against established KPIs, and identify areas for improvement or cost savings.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to source and negotiate contracts with transportation providers, warehouses, and other logistics partners to ensure cost-effective and reliable service.
  • Lead cross-functional projects to enhance process efficiency, streamline operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the export logistics function.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior logistics staff on export procedures, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE SHOULD INCLUDE...

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in export logistics, international shipping, and supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, INCOTERMS, customs procedures, and logistics software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a customer-centric focus.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organisational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, build relationships with external partners, and drive results through teamwork.
  • Certification in export compliance, logistics management, or supply chain management is a plus.
