Job summary

A renewable energy company in Cape Town seeks an Environmental and Social Officer to support the construction of a solar PV plant. The candidate will implement the Environmental and Social Management System, manage environmental audits, and promote community engagement. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Environmental Management and at least 5 years’ experience in environmental and social roles. A strong communicator passionate about renewables is essential, along with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5 years proven work experience as E&S Officer / Specialist.
• On-site experience for construction infrastructure projects.
• Experience in developing or implementing ESMS at project level.
• Experience in community engagement in a multi-cultural context.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the ESMS focusing on environmental aspects.
• Conduct regular site environmental audits for compliance.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies for environmental regulations.
• Support the Social Advisor in community engagements.
