Position Overview

Position is based out of Johannesburg or Cape Town and is responsible for EH&S for South Africa for the NCR Atleos Field Services as well as functional leadership for all EHS activity in-country including rework centers stocking locations and other fixed facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development and implementation of world-class Environmental Health & Safety objectives in a continuous improvement environment; manage implementation of worldwide EH&S policies and standards.
  • Participate in the development of strategic initiatives to reduce environmental impact or occupational health and safety risks associated with NCR processes, products and services.
  • Support business clients in identifying legal requirements and developing appropriate Prevention Plans, including advising management on options for EH&S compliance.
  • Follow and participate in regulatory developments and advise facility and corporate management of EH&S legislation or developments that may impact operations; act as a team leader for EH&S projects and consult with internal organizations to streamline and improve EH&S processes.
  • Provide consultation, advice and assistance to facilities regarding obtaining and maintaining environmental permits or applications.
  • Participate in investigations of serious accidents, including those involving significant property and environmental damage.
  • Audit and monitor EH&S performance and recommend management system improvements; facilitate communication of EH&S information throughout the corporation.
  • Support product recycling compliance programs.
  • Analyze supplier performance evaluation data and use metrics to drive process improvements.
  • Support procurement relationships with key suppliers related to quality and delivery of products and services.
  • Position is provided with a standard company car for customer meetings, trainings and safety investigations.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience
  • Familiarity with South African EHS Legislation (OSHA Act of 1993) and program implementation
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills necessary to deal with internal and external contacts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage EH&S programs in a regional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, project manage, prioritize work load and display high-level organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and globally with the ability to consult, build relationships and/or indirectly influence and lead enterprise-wide and/or cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated EH&S training and auditing skills
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean continuous improvement training and project experience
