Overview

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a Draftsman with proven experience in producing accurate and detailed technical drawings for projects within the food processing, manufacturing, and abattoir design industries. This role requires a professional who understands the specialised compliance, safety, and hygiene standards critical to these environments.

As a key member of the project team, you will work closely with engineers, project managers, and external consultants to translate conceptual ideas into precise drawings that meet both regulatory and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise technical drawings, layouts, and plans using CAD software.
• Translate project concepts and requirements into accurate technical documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with South African food safety, health, and building regulations.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders on food processing and abattoir facility layouts.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in line with industry-specific standards.
• Support project teams with updates and modifications throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven drafting experience within food processing, manufacturing, or abattoir facility design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of South African building regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and food industry compliance requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
• A qualification in Drafting / Engineering Design or related field will be advantageous.
