Key Responsibilities
- Inspecting and Diagnosing: Conduct thorough inspections of diesel engines, mechanical components, and related systems to identify issues.
- Performing Repairs: Repair or replace worn or defective parts and components, including engines, transmissions, brake systems, and electrical components.
- Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Using Diagnostic Equipment: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and computer-controlled equipment to diagnose faults.
- Record Keeping: Accurately record all services, repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate safety apparel, and maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Parts Management: Manage and inventory tools, parts, and other necessary equipment.
- Communication: Liaise with team members, supervisors, and potentially clients to ensure effective workflow and problem resolution.
Minimum Requirements
- NQF Level 5 Diesel Mechanic Qualification
- 5 years’ work experience
