About the Role

WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a global leader in secure data collaboration to recruit a Data Product Manager. This role is ideal for a technically proficient and business-savvy professional ready to manage the lifecycle of data products within a two-sided B2B data marketplace. You’ll drive strategy, execution, and delivery while collaborating with product squads and data stakeholders to develop innovative, privacy-compliant data products.

Reporting to the Head of Data Product Growth, you will work within established frameworks while gaining experience in stakeholder management, data governance, and experimentation—making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to scale their product leadership career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute data product roadmap under the guidance of senior leadership
  • Manage product categories or portfolios, including seller onboarding and performance optimisation
  • Evaluate data assets (schemas, quality, integrations)
  • Conduct discovery sessions with sellers and identify monetisation opportunities
  • Write detailed specs for data pipelines, APIs, and integrations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Data Science, Engineering, Growth)
  • Apply data governance standards and validate security and compliance
  • Present technical and business solutions to clients and internal teams
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, or similar
  • 3–5 years in data-related roles (engineering, BI, science, or data product)
  • 4–6 years of product management or strong product delivery in analytics
  • Strong SQL skills, understanding of data pipelines, and integration best practices
  • Familiarity with data governance (e.g., GDPR, POPIA)
  • Working knowledge of APIs, cloud data platforms (Azure preferred), and data visualisation tools (Power BI desirable)
  • Comfort working in agile, fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication skills and a business-value mindset
Nice to Have
  • Python or Spark experience
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, data marketplaces, or platform business models
  • Background in regulated industries like finance or healthcare
  • Familiarity with SLAs, data contracts, or enterprise data agreements
  • Azure certifications or interest in pursuing them
  • Advanced degree in a technical or data field
