Responsibilities
- Coordinate demonstration trials to farmers, train them on crop protection technology and good farming practices.
- Conduct regular visits to farms and rural farmers to assess current agricultural practices and identify areas for improvement.
- Site selection for demo planting to demonstrate product efficiency with high pest pressure relevant to demonstration.
- Coordinate and assist with marketing demonstrations on pest and disease management.
- Support gathering data for customer complaints.
- Ensure demand creation and link to relevant technical sales representative.
- Provide feedback on trial results including performance of products and return on investment from yield quantity and quality.
Your Challenge
- Market Corteva crop program solutions in visual demonstrations to growers.
- Support Stewardship trainings to farmers on Corteva products.
- Demonstration plots planting.
- Chemical or biological sample handling and decanting.
- Trial data collection, data capturing, systems input and updates.
- Internal field trial planning, preparation and trial execution on farmer's fields in support.
- Accompany Research Scientists on off‑site field visits (sleep out as needed).
- Work across different research fields in Crop Protection, Biologicals and Biostimulants.
- Support our health and safety process and systems update.
- Getting a grasp of the regulatory requirements for product development and registration.
- General administrative and regulatory duties.
Key Stakeholders and Interactions
Corteva South Africa interacts with farmers and other agricultural stakeholders like agents and distribution partners in implementing Corteva marketing activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Crop Science / Agriculture or other related fields.
- Valid code B driver's license.
- Fluent in English and preferably Afrikaans or other vernacular language.
- Strong knowledge of crop cultivation techniques, including planting, fertilizer application and pest management.
- Self‑starter that takes charge of their tasks.
- Commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship in agricultural practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams in collaboration to achieve One Corteva ambition.
- Ability to design strategic and action plans to demonstrate the best performance of products.
