The Counselor I works with families in the community meeting FAYS eligibility requirements : 6-17 years of ageRunaway youth (either currently or threatening)Abused child (experiencing abuse, insufficient for DFPS case)At-risk youth for other behavioral problemYouth involved in deferred prosecution with juvenile probationYouth placed in residential care for family conflict to reunify familyWhat you'll doRead and respond to office and agency emails and reports (all correspondence)Attend meetings (within & outside the agency)Travel to satellite locations, as neededMaintain accurate mileage recordsComplete monthly statistical sheets with outcome measuresComputer skills to organize materials, narratives, correspondence, etc.Obtain initial psychosocial assessment information and incorporate into client's plan of serviceMeet service goals of at least 10 sessions per week, billable hours (unless otherwise specified by supervisor due to travel to remote areas or other office obligations or program needs)Meet additional service goals as required by state contract, such as identifying and serving new clients each monthMaintain a caseload of clients receiving weekly and / or biweekly services (as assigned by supervisor)Generate an individualized plan of service for each clientComplete accurate case notes within 48 hours of providing service to clientsServe as a resource to the client and family to achieve plan of service goalsComplete all required trainings, including but not limited to HIPAA, Crisis Intervention, Cultural Humility, Reporting Child Abuse, TBRI and other Evidence-Based CurriculumsMaintain documentation for standards and contract compliance (progress notes for each substantial client contact)Maintain confidentiality of clientsUtilize approved evidence‑based and promising practicesProvide one session per week outside of office hours and participate in weekend events as neededProvide in‑person crisis intervention services as neededTransport children, as necessary, to shelterProvide group, individual and family sessionsParticipate in outreach events within designated service areasDevelop and maintain community partnerships within designated service areasUtilize healthy coping skills to reduce secondary traumaUse ethical decision‑making and seek guidance and supervision, as neededQualificationsEducation : Master's degree in counseling or related field and an active Texas license as an LPC Associate, LMFT Associate, or LMSW under supervision and pursuing LCSW statusExperience : One‑year experience in related areaKnowledge and Skills : Approved criminal background report.
