Job description

Overview :

Our client in the automotive sector is seeking a Cost and Management Accountant to analyze COS and Gross Contributions at division level, assist with sales projects, and complete ad-hoc feasibility studies for the Commercial Manager.

Minimum Requirements / Experience :

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Bachelor of Commerce / Diploma in Financial Accounting
  • 2-3 years’ experience in management accounting
  • Experience in the automotive industry and manufacturing environment

Key Performance Areas :

Financial Strategy :

  • Participate in organizational strategy from a financial perspective

General Financial :

  • Provide financial analysis and support to management and operations
  • Maintain and update ERP system (BPCS)
  • Ensure internal control compliance

Cost Accounting :

  • Prepare and review product costing for new parts
  • Analyze current parts and recommend financial recovery strategies
  • Propose potential price increases
  • Review GP percentage of BOMs and identify distressed parts
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Costing :

  • Provide 'what-if' costings for new products and specifications
  • Collaborate with technical and factory teams to ensure cost accuracy
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively

Cost Analysis :

  • Offer profitability insights and optimization strategies
  • Assist in product rationalization and business improvement opportunities
  • Participate in customer and commercial meetings to provide insights

Reporting :

  • Develop quarterly profitability review platforms
  • Create and automate commercial reports
  • Track project costings weekly

Teamwork and Self-Management :

  • Take ownership of tasks and demonstrate proactive self-management
  • Maintain quality and meet deadlines
  • Communicate risks and support business values
  • Manage expectations and contribute to team targets
  • Participate in performance appraisals and ensure personal development
