Job description
ENVIRONMENT

BE responsible for local reporting and tracking of the maturity and benefit levels across their CI interventions and driving adoption of world-leading CI principles as the next Continuous Improvement (CI) Coach sought by a dynamic Energy Specialist. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of CI interventions, including ‘wave’ deployment of CI capability and mechanisms to achieve a ‘Bronze’ CI maturity level, as well as tactical discovery/rapid improvement and value stream interventions. The successful incumbent will require a relevant Bachelor’s Degree/NQF 7 qualification & either accredited as, or on the learning pathway to becoming a Lean Expert and Six Sigma Black belt with at least 3 years proven work experience as a CI Coach.

DUTIES

CI Delivery & Implementation –

  • Work with Divisional senior management to help provide lean strategic direction for interventions.
  • Coach and support management and their teams in scope on their CI interventions, growing CI capability during the interventions.
  • Build and drive CI deployment roadmaps to achieve full coverage and engagement over the next 2-3 years.
  • Responsible for deployment of CI Bronze method with balanced outcomes across People, Customer and Cost.
  • Responsible for all baselining and mobilisation activities and analysis in local area.
  • Responsible for deployment of any Rapid Improvement interventions with outcomes delivered against Charter.
  • Embed CI post wave and support the business units to consistently deliver year-on-year benefits of up to 5% after the initial wave.
  • Responsible for all local CI intervention tracking and reporting of benefits, across intervention-levels such as Customer outcomes (Problem solving/KPI impact); People outcomes (engagement); Financial outcomes (enabling/incremental, cost/revenue); Maturity outcomes.
  • Identify method innovations and provide feedback to the CI Lead.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to Operational Managers and teams on a day-to-day basis.
  • Intervene, where appropriate, to work with coaches and managers to help them resolve complex issues that would otherwise prevent full benefit delivery.
  • Support other operational CI Coaches as a technical subject matter expert in Lean, Six Sigma and Change Management techniques.
  • Support core CI training delivery.

Governance & Compliance -

  • Ensure audit outcomes of the business processes meet full compliance, and address non-compliance with corrective measures.
REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications –

  • Bachelor’s Degree/NQF 7 qualification.

Experience/Skills –

  • 3 Years’ proven experience as a CI Coach.
  • Either accredited as, or on the learning pathway to becoming a Lean Expert and Six Sigma Black belt.
  • Recognised capability in Continuous Improvement with practical experience with Lean/ Six-Sigma programmes/deployments, Lean ways of working and coaching leadership in role modelling the respective behaviours.
  • Previous experience of senior level stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Relevant experience of delivering complex improvement projects/initiatives.
