A National Diploma in Civil Engineering and 3 to 5 years of civil construction experience, including shotcrete supervision, are required. Qualifications

The Role

The Shotcrete Construction Manager oversees multi‑site shotcrete operations with primary focus areas in KwaZulu‑Natal and the Western Cape. The position exists to ensure safe, efficient and high‑quality shotcrete execution across several crews and project locations. You will coordinate teams, manage equipment readiness, enforce safety standards, and maintain quality from substrate preparation through to final curing. The role requires extensive travel and hands‑on leadership across national sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise shotcrete activities across multiple sites
  • Manage and mentor nozzlemen, pump operators, finishers, hose tenders and assistants
  • Oversee setup, inspection and maintenance of all shotcrete equipment
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure environmental suitability for shotcreting
  • Conduct quality control across placement, mixing, finishing and curing
  • Liaise with supervisors and inspectors throughout project delivery
  • Travel nationally, with strong focus on KwaZulu‑Natal
About You
  • 3 to 5 years of civil construction experience, including a minimum 2 years of shotcrete supervision
  • National Diploma in Civil Engineering
  • Strong understanding of wet and/or dry mix processes, equipment, and crew coordination
  • Based in Cape Town and willing to travel extensively
  • Experience with reinforced or complex shotcrete structures
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and sites
  • Strong communication and planning ability
