Qualifications

Job description

We have an exciting position for a Condition Monitoring Technician to provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel proactively on rotating equipment to continuously enhance plant performance and availability.

Reporting to the National Maintenance Manager, the Condition Monitoring Technician will be responsible for Condition Monitoring data collection on rotating equipment, analysis of data, reporting of defects, and recommendations of corrective actions based on: Alignment, Balancing, IR scan of electrical panels, oil sampling, and Vibration Analyses.

Our sites are mainly centered in Vanderbijlpark and Mpumalanga, thus traveling between the different sites will be required (Company vehicle will be provided for work requirements).

Must be willing to relocate.

CRITICAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES

  1. Execution and completion of relevant ConMon PM-schedules as per CMMS system.
  2. Compiling and updating of condition monitoring trending reports for rotating equipment.
  3. Providing input to performance review reports as required on a daily/weekly basis and comply with data quality standards.
  4. Executing data validation and reconciliation requirements daily; delivering diligent close-out of work orders, capturing data that is correctly coded and reported at the accurate quantum within an appropriate timeframe.
  5. Executing delivery of the sustainability activities as relevant to discipline and set out in the Life of Asset Plan to improve sustainability performance over time.
  6. Consistently applying Safety and Health principles in all team interactions and taking personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
  7. Collecting and summarizing the specific risks within the working area and implementing plans/systems to avoid these risks.
  8. Good communication and interaction between yourself and the maintenance and/or operations team.
  9. Submit monthly time & travel logbook.
  10. Achieve company, department, and customer KPI's.
  11. Data collection and reporting.
  12. Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new customers.
  13. Engage with all business support infrastructures to resolve queries.
  14. Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, assuring continuous quality improvement and safety awareness.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  1. Matric / Grade 12 (or technical equivalent).
  2. Preferably Trade test (Mechanical).
  3. Higher qualification in Mechanical field (Diploma in Mechanical Engineering).
  4. Minimum of three years experience in condition monitoring and site maintenance.
  5. Experience in Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA).
