Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the receiving, storing, securing and picking of goods.

Responsibilities

• Stacking and storing of goods – supply clerks with empty storage bin locations to receive finished goods from packing.
• Verify previous day packed stock against receiving documents.
• Stack finished goods from packing and keep the Cold Store free of clutter, stacking pallets correctly.
• Prevent any product entering the Cold Store without an SU label and location.
• Pick finished goods according to picking slips provided by the team leader.
• Stack all returned products accurately as per allocated location.
• Pick pallets in good condition to ship to customers.
• Comply with stacking and storage principles, ensuring everything is in its proper place.
• Safely stack pallets in the Cold Store as per stacking exemption, avoiding damaged pallets and cases.
• Report safety hazards or unsafe conditions immediately to the Cold Store Team Leader.
• Complete the daily warehouse inspection form and submit to the Team Leader.
• Perform daily Reach Truck inspection and record all non‑conformances.
• Ensure proper PPE and attend daily departmental safety talks.
• Carry out reasonable requests from the Cold Store Team Leader, assist other tasks, and help train new storemen.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 / Matric with strong numerical acumen.
• Valid Reach truck license.
• Minimum 2 years experience in FMCG plant manufacturing or food industry environment.
• Experience in storekeeping and stock control, with a strong focus on stock control.
