Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Line Manager in Kirkwood's citrus sector. This on-site role involves overseeing production line activities, ensuring product quality, and managing a large team effectively. Candidates must have at least Grade 12 and five years of production management experience, along with computer literacy in MS Office. Knowledge of relevant systems like BRC is beneficial. The position requires flexibility for shifts and participation in maintenance duties outside packing periods.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric) is essential.
  • A formal qualification in Production / Operations Management is advantageous.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing a large team in a production environment.
  • Proven computer literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of BRC and QHSE systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure hourly and daily production and quality targets are met.
  • Identify areas for poor production and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety standards and requirements.
  • Maintain continuous quality control measures.
  • Report and follow up on equipment failures with Maintenance.
  • Record all relevant production and technical data.
  • Maintain reports and dashboards to measure performance.
  • Identify development areas and manage staff performance.
  • Plan staff, stock and resources with internal departments.
  • Manage employee relations, including disciplinary matters.
  • Present daily production progress at Management meetings.
