Sempre Technology is looking for experienced Process / Chemical Plant Operators in South Africa who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Your Role ⚙️🏭

As a Process Operator, you’ll be at the heart of a fully automated chemical production environment. Your experience in handling chemicals, operating control room systems, and responding to operational issues will ensure smooth and safe production.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Monitoring and managing automated production processes from the control room, ensuring stable, safe, and efficient operations
• Ensuring availability of raw materials and semi-finished products, preparing solutions, adding raw materials, and operating the automated production control system
• Converting production planning into work orders and coordinating day-to-day operational tasks within the production area
• Taking production samples, performing independent sample analysis, validating lab equipment, interpreting results, and providing instructions for product adjustments or reprocessing; sending samples to the laboratory when required
• Identifying malfunctions, troubleshooting issues efficiently, conducting safety inspections, reporting deviations, securing unsafe situations, and performing basic maintenance when needed
• Ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental regulations and maintaining a clean, efficient, and well-organized working environment
• Supporting the maintenance department during shutdowns and planned maintenance activities
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, product quality, operational safety, and overall production performance

What You Bring:

• Chemical operator A/B qualification (or equivalent SA chemical plant certificate)
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, polymer or similar industrial production
• Strong knowledge of chemical handling and experience with process control
• Experience with sampling, testing, and adjusting product parameters
• Troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve process-related issues
• Firefighting and working-at-heights training and experience (or willingness to obtain)
• Afrikaans required, English is a plus
• Willingness to work a 5-shift rotation (6 days on / 4 days off)
