Purpose Statement
  • To optimise business efficiencies made possible by automation, digital, information, and communications technologies (not limited to technologies) through systematically analysing and defining business requirements and functional specifications.
  • To develop and design solutions and ensure effectiveness of implementation as well as continuous improvement for business and/or existing applications solutions by collaborating with and acting as conduit between stakeholders from the business, Technology and the product team.
Education

Minimum:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis; and
  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational
  • For internal applicants: Completion of BA School of Learning Level 1 & 2

Ideal or Preferred:

  • A relevant post-graduate degree in Business or IT or a related field; and
  • Business Analysis certification
Experience and Knowledge

Minimum:

  • At least 4 years' proven work experience in various business analysis knowledge areas, working independently with minimal oversight
  • Business and data modelling and analysis
  • Understanding of business process and translating requirements into business processes, context diagrams, visual explanations (e.g., data visualisation and Power BI reporting skills), etc.
  • Functional and Non-Functional business process design
  • Communication and translation of information across business and technical environments (interface between business and technology)
  • Design of evidence-based best practice solutions
  • Risk assessment and root-cause analysis
  • Project Management principles and relevant development lifecycle experience
  • Agile development lifecycle principles and experience
  • Understanding of systems and the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Systems and solutions design thinking skills (Cloud Technologies)
  • Customer Experience (CX) / client journey mapping
  • Facilitating User Interface (UX) Designs
  • Stakeholder engagement and collaboration

Ideal:

  • 5-8 years' proven work experience in various business analysis knowledge areas, working independently with minimal oversight
  • Lean / Six Sigma
  • Digital transformation and an understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
