Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Basketball high-performance coach to assist in leading our college basketball program. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the game, a passion for developing student-athletes, and a strong commitment to fostering a positive and competitive team culture. This role requires a coach who can not only teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills but also instil values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline. The Basketball High-Performance Coach will be responsible for all aspects of the program, including coaching, player development, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities
  • Coaching & Player Development:
    • Plan, organise, and conduct practices and games.
    • Develop and implement effective offensive and defensive strategies.
    • Provide individual and team instruction to improve skills, conditioning, and game performance.
    • Promote a positive and inclusive team environment.
    • To attend and assist with the organisation of tours for all age groups.
  • Team & Program Management:
    • Assist with overseeing all aspects of the basketball program.
    • Coordinate with the Director of Sport for scheduling, transportation, and facility use.
    • Help manage the program budget and inventory of equipment and uniforms.
    • Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league rules and regulations.
  • Administrative & Community Engagement:
    • Effectively communicate with players, parents, school staff, and the community.
    • Organise and run trials and team selection processes.
    • Participate in fundraising activities and community events to support the program.
Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as a basketball coach at a senior school, club, or university level.
    • Demonstrated success in player development and team management.
    • Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and techniques.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
    • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
    • Knowledge of athletic training, injury prevention, and sports psychology.
    • Excellent administration skills
    • Be prepared to work closely with other sporting codes for the best interest of the boys in your care.
  • Education & Certifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
    • Valid coaching certification.

A clean background check is required.
