Requirements
  • A relevant degree / advanced diploma (NQF level 7) in Financial Management or equivalent qualification with a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ working experience in basic accounting principles environment.
  • Knowledge of Basic Accounting System (BAS), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, Relevant Financial Management legislation and directives.
Duties
  • Monitor the implementation and maintenance of Financial Management practices (BAS) transactions concerning financial processes in the Department to contribute to the rendering of a professional financial administration services.
  • Verify and approve all documents and transactions on BAS according to delegations. Monitor the successful implementation of Departmental / Public Service policies as well as development of policies on matters related to financial management to adhere to the relevant prescripts / legislation.
  • Address financial management enquiries to ensure the correct implementation of financial management practices and policies. Prepare and consolidate reports / reconciliation of BAS on financial management issues.
  • Manage the resources of the bookkeeping, paymaster general and cashier unit to ensure the smooth running of the sub-directorate.
