Job Description
- Responsible for managing all operational and financial aspects of the Distribution Centre, including performance analysis, KPI monitoring, reporting, asset management, and compliance.
- Ensure strong internal controls, stakeholder engagement, and alignment of agent operations, while leading people development and driving process improvements.
Required Skills
- BCom in Management Accounting or Accounting.
- Proven track record in financial management, systems implementation and controls.
- At least 5 years post qualification experience in a financial function or management control function in a logistics environment. Experience in a FMCG would be advantageous.
- Good analytical skills, accuracy and details orientated, Computer literacy: Advanced Excel and related MS office Packages.
- Knowledge of BPCS System or similar ERP system and Reporting Tools is preferred.
- Customer orientated, assertiveness and problem-solving skills.
- Result driven, business acumen and good decision making as well as strong leadership skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performance management of the DC in all areas: Variance analysis for actual vs budget and previous year.
- Daily KPI management: Labour, stock losses, warehouse management, fleet management.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly reports accurately and timeously for DC Meetings and Head Office submission.
- Fixed asset management (CAPEX, ROI, asset verification).
- Analyse feedback from the external auditors on controls, procedures and general accepted accounting principles with corrective action plans.
- All internal processes to be documented and review on a continual basis.
- Maintain high quality service and interaction with client, suppliers and other departments.
- Factory Shop: Internal control, reporting, product pricing.
- People management: Recruitment and development as well as performance management and wellbeing.
- Ensure daily / weekly meetings are effective and all issues are resolved successfully through people.
- Ensure that all procedures and policies are effectively implemented across all financial functions such as stock control, pricing, systems, assets, and creditors to mitigate risk.
- Agents: Ensure the agents maintain the same procedures as the Lactalis DC. Weekly reporting on sales, returns and losses.
