Overview

A growing SME looking for an Accountant to grow with the business.

Responsibilities

Accounting Duties :

  • Oversee the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and budgets.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Manage cash flow and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, preparing all required documentation and liaising with external auditors.
  • Implement and maintain internal control processes to safeguard company assets and enhance financial efficiency.
  • Develop financial forecasts and reports to support strategic decision-making.

Administrative Management :

  • Oversee and manage all administrative functions, including office operations, facilities management, and procurement.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain administrative policies, procedures, and systems to ensure organisational efficiency.
  • Supervise and manage support staff to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain accurate and organised records for both financial and administrative purposes.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, service providers, and stakeholders to meet organisational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labour laws, and health and safety regulations.

Leadership and Coordination :

  • Work closely with leadership to align financial and administrative strategies with organisational goals.
  • Provide regular financial and operational updates to management, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead cross-departmental collaboration to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Support staff training and development in finance and administrative processes where applicable.
