Job description

Nova Pioneer is looking for a savvy Tech Coordinator! We are seeking a dynamic individual who is great at organizing in‑house IT processes, receiving and scheduling IT support requests, maintaining the technology equipment, testing and reconditioning equipment for redeployment, tracking tech supplies and services, and all things tech‑related.

About the Role

This position reports to the School Leader/Dean of Operations and is responsible for supporting the School Leadership Team, managing the IT helpdesk at the school campus, enforcing its existing policy, and collaborating with other functional teams in the planning, development and implementation of all technology‑related projects for academic systems, residential life, sports activities, and school‑based events.

Responsibilities
  1. Tech Asset Management
  2. Shall be fully responsible and accountable for the management of student Chromebooks or laptops where applicable. This includes day‑to‑day management of the student Chromebooks / laptops check‑in and check‑out process, and the provision of a detailed monthly report showing device counts for Chromebooks, projectors, chargers, speakers, earsets, HDMI cables for general management, launch planning, insurance or other purposes.
  3. Maintaining an accurate inventory record of school equipment. Managing and tracking the IT/Tech assets while ensuring safe storage, and keeping an up‑to‑date inventory.
  4. Ensure all teachers sign the asset management document and ensure safe storage of the paperwork.
  5. Collect classroom tech assets from class teachers at the end of every term.
  6. Support the central Global Tech team with the management of the teacher’s Chromebooks / Laptops.
  7. Conduct, facilitate and/or support teammate Tech or role onboarding and offboarding in collaboration with Talent and the central Global Academic support or Global Tech Team.
  8. Conduct teacher Professional Development (PD) on the use and care of tech assets termly.
  9. Attend teacher PD on a regular basis.
  10. Create and run professional development experiences for teammates on tech.
  11. Run tech capacity‑building training sessions for different functions at the school (academic and non‑academic) at least termly.
  12. Be the first point of contact to users (students, parents, and teammates) when troubleshooting Tech related issues via the school’s helpdesk and, where necessary, escalating more technical issues that require in‑depth problem solving to the central Global Tech Team.
  13. Resolve and respond to helpdesk tickets within laid‑out IT SLA timelines.
  14. Troubleshoot the classroom projectors, speakers, and HDMI failures. Ensure any such issues are resolved proactively and constantly keep the affected stakeholders updated on the progress.
  15. Support the administration of the school’s Student Information System (SIS /EdAdmin) with respect to software updates, troubleshooting, user password resets, etc.
  16. Support on SASAMs submissions: updating related software (SASAMS, Valistractor, etc.), training and supporting the Admin Assistants and school teams on SASAMs submissions.
  17. Support the school with Termly report submissions (correct report formats, accompanying letters, school leader’s signatures).
  18. Support the school teams in logging external support tickets.
  19. Support the school leadership team or the central Global Academic Support team to conduct Academic year roll‑over & Term roll‑over responsibilities.
  20. Support teammates with accessing printing services by ensuring connectivity to the printer is always available; onboard and off‑board teammates on the print management software, manage printing access (issuance of printing codes, user password resets, etc.).
  21. Support and collaborate with the central Global Tech Team with onsite diagnosis of printing service outages and participate in the resolution of such issues.
  22. Receive technicians from contract service providers as needed to carry out maintenance or repair tasks and communicate progress updates.
  23. Liaise/support central Global Tech on printing toner procurement, stock management, and replacements.
  24. Liaise/support central Global Tech on managing the usage & maintenance of the printers.
  25. Troubleshoot all internet issues, ensuring they are resolved proactively and stakeholders are kept updated on progress.
  26. Receive technicians from contract service providers for maintenance or repair tasks and provide progress updates.
  27. Conduct ongoing network security posture monitoring and report incidents.
  28. Troubleshoot and regularly inspect printers, routers, switches, CCTV cameras, access points, and computer hardware and software components.
  29. Ensure appropriate set‑up of hardware (laptops, headsets, software) for online testing sessions or any curriculum activity, e.g., NWEA MAP tests.
  30. Support teachers in running heavy computer/technology‑aided lessons.
  31. Support the school leadership team or central Global Academic Support team to generate student report cards, PDFs, test versions, and share them with teachers.
  32. Support academic teams with tech needs for school events (parent, student, teacher events such as microphones, PA systems).
  33. Execute any other duties assigned by your manager from time to time.
About You
Required Qualifications
  • Complete diploma/degree in an IT‑related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience (IT support experience an advantage).
  • Proficient knowledge of computer networks and ability to troubleshoot network‑related issues.
  • Competence and comfort with PC / Linux / Mac‑based computer systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle many projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Empathy, curiosity, and people‑reading skills to understand teammates, students, and customers.
  • Highly proficient in data management, Excel, project management, team‑oriented thinking, vendor relationship management, and procurement.
Competencies and Character
  • Passion for a career in technology.
  • Attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Proficiency in network software configuration, print server management, firewall and server security management, cabling and physical network maintenance, Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 desktop administration, onsite and remote helpdesk support, GSuite applications use and administration.
  • Thoughtful planning with ability to multi‑task, take initiative, prioritize, and deliver for multiple stakeholders under tight deadlines.
  • Results‑driven, fast, and ownership of work.
