Job summary
A local education center is looking for an Abacus & Mental Arithmetic Teacher to conduct lessons and support students' learning. The role includes planning lessons, communicating with parents about their children’s progress, and performing administrative tasks. A Diploma in any field is required, and computer literacy in Microsoft Office is essential. Training is provided. The position is primarily based in Hougang with some work in Ang Mo Kio, offering a salary between $2000 and $3500 depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
- Must possess at least a Diploma in any field.
- Computer literacy is essential, specifically in Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools.
Responsibilities
- Conduct abacus and mental arithmetic lessons.
- Plan and mark students' homework.
- Communicate with parents regarding progress.
- Update students' progress reports.
- Assist in preparation for competitions.
- Perform administrative duties.
Skills
Education
Working Days and Time: Wed - Fri 11am to 9pm, Sat – Sun 9am to 6pm
Working Location: Mainly Hougang, with 1–2 days weekly at Ang Mo Kio
Salary: $2000 to $3500 (Depends on qualifications & experiences)
- Conduct abacus and mental arithmetic lessons according to the teaching syllabus and procedures.
- Plan and mark students’ homework and ensure homework completion.
- Communicate with parents regarding students’ learning progress, centre holidays, events, and class schedule adjustments.
- Update students’ progress reports to ensure they meet expected learning standards.
- Assist in preparing for competitions, assessment exams, and in-house events.
- Perform administrative duties such as attendance-taking, recording, and uploading online class videos.
- Must possess at least a Diploma in any field.
- Computer literacy in Zoom, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Training will be provided.
