Responsibilities:
Review each patient’s medication chart or prescription to assess the suitability of prescribed medications, and consult the prescribing physician when intervention is necessary. This review ensures all medication orders are clearly written, with dosages within safe therapeutic ranges, and helps identify any potential adverse reactions or drug interactions.
Accurately and promptly fulfill all medication orders.
Verify prescriptions and dispense medications, providing appropriate patient counseling.
Manage or supervise both in-patient and out-patient discharge processes.
Offer drug-related information and support to medical personnel.
Compound extemporaneous preparations as prescribed, when required.
Maintain accurate drug inventory records. Conduct regular stock checks in all wards to ensure adequate supplies and replenish stock as needed.
Oversee and supervise the work of Pharmacy Assistants and Pharmacy Technicians.
Communicate with external doctors and in-house Resident Medical Officers when necessary.
Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Senior Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager.
Ensure all dispensing and sales of medications comply with legal standards. Maintain complete documentation for all aspects of drug handling—including receipt, storage, distribution, and supply—according to hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
With 1 year of working experience as a hospital pharmacist.
Excellent communication skills.
