Job summary

A tuition centre in Singapore is seeking a Part-Time English Teacher to conduct engaging 2-hour lessons in English and Writing for Primary and Secondary students. Role

As a Part-Time English Teacher at our centre, you will conduct engaging 2-hour lessons in English and Writing for Primary and/or Secondary students. You will be given the space to teach meaningfully and to bring your strengths into the classroom. With your enthusiasm and commitment, you will create a learning experience that is both impactful and enjoyable for every student.

Prerequisites
  • Genuine interest in working with children and supporting their development
  • Strong ability to engage, communicate, and manage a class confidently
  • Self-motivated, committed to personal growth, and dedicated to delivering high-quality work
  • A team player who collaborates well and is willing to support parents and students beyond the classroom
  • Positive energy, enthusiasm, and a youthful, proactive attitude
  • Able to teach at least one of the following locations: Bukit Timah or Kovan
Qualifications
  • At least 2 to 3 years of experience teaching children in a classroom setting
  • Familiar with the Singapore Primary/Secondary School English syllabus and its challenges
  • Hold Bachelor’s Degree or higher (preferably in an English- or Literature-related discipline). Applicants should have completed at least one English module at the undergraduate level. If no English module was taken at university, a minimum B3 in O-Level English is required.
  • MOE and/or special needs teaching background is a plus (Attractive compensation package)
Additional Requirements
  • Pre-teaching training with mentoring on an ongoing basis especially in the area of marking based on centre standards
  • At least 3 classes a week, minimally 2 classes on the weekends (2 hours per class)
  • Work schedule may include classes on weeknights and on weekends (either Saturday or Sunday, or both)
  • Take pure on-site and hybrid classes (online and on-site students concurrently)
  • Commit to work until end of 2026*
  • An option to be bonded until 2027 with an incentive

* We require teachers to see the students/classes through a full academic year as much as possible.

Prior to teaching, you will undergo paid training where you will be equipped with the skills and knowledge you need to teach successfully.
