Senior Service Engineer (Manufacturing)
Job summary
A leading manufacturing firm in Singapore is seeking a Senior Service Engineer to oversee repair and servicing of machinery in their manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate will possess excellent supervisory, analytical, and communication skills. Responsibilities include planning service work, delegating tasks among teams, and ensuring the optimal performance of machines. Strong experience in customer engagement and project management methodologies is essential. This position is based in Singapore and is suitable for individuals who can work under pressure.
Qualifications
- Ability to supervise teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Experience in customer engagement under pressure.
- Knowledge in leadership and manpower management.
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Repair and service machinery in the manufacturing unit.
- Plan servicing work to avoid disruption to factory output.
- Delegate work among team members for efficient operations.
- Make detailed reports on maintenance work.
- Ensure availability of replacement parts in stock.
- Improve machine performance.
- Conduct safety checks on machinery.
- Maintain an inventory of repair equipment.
- Install, commission, maintain, and service equipment.
Skills

- Repair and service all machinery and equipment present in a company's manufacturing unit.
- Plan the servicing work in advance so the factory output is not affected by the service work.
- Work in teams and delegate work among them for fast-paced conduct.
- Make detailed reports on all work that is done on each machine.
- Ensure that any parts that need replacing are available in stock.
- Work on improving the performance of the machine.
- Conduct safety checks on all the machines to mitigate danger for workers.
- Keep an inventory of equipment required for repair work.
- Responsible for installation, commissioning, maintenance and servicing of equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent product knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to relay problem solutions to customers and management.
- Ability to supervise.
- Computer literate with experience in MS Office, Excel.
- Experience engaging with customers in a pressured environment.
- Experience in manpower management, leadership and good communication skills with staff and clients/suppliers.
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
