Argus is where smart people belong and where they can grow. We answer the challenge of illuminating markets and shaping new futures.
What will you be doing?
Did you know that shipping is the glue that keeps global trade together, and managing freight costs and risks is a critical element of strategy for any player in commodity markets?
Argus is looking for a market reporter to join our team covering freight markets. The global freight market is constantly changing in its position at the centre of international trade, geopolitics, and environmental regulation. So, this represents an exciting opportunity to join the team and cover high-profile news on changes that can reshape the market and impact the broader crude, oil products and dry bulk commodity markets.
The global freight team has team members in Singapore, Mumbai, London and New York, and the role involves collaboration with the rest of the worldwide team. It will provide you with access to a wide range of subjects and commodity-related knowledge and the opportunity to collaborate with other desks. The freight team also benefits from an exciting pipeline of projects and product development opportunities. As a member of this team, you will become familiar with all these markets and get a chance to become an expert in one or more of them. In addition, you will be responsible for making daily price assessments, writing market commentaries, news and in-depth analysis, and building our data coverage for the daily publication.
You will work with other reporters, senior reporters, and editors who will provide training and support to develop in-depth knowledge of the markets. In-house training courses are regularly provided on technical skills and content-related classes, and new joiners are also provided with an online training platform.
