Job summary
An educational institute in Singapore is seeking an IT professional to manage and maintain network and server infrastructure, ensuring effective operations, security, and training for users. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in network support and a solid understanding of security protocols. - Ensure the efficient and effective operation of all network and server equipment, including the maintenance, upgrades, and installation of network and server components.
- Administer and manage servers, Networking Switches, routers, Firewall, workstations, and network infrastructure to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage and maintain existing server hardware and software to ensure they remain operational and up to date.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and security assessments to keep servers and systems secure.
- Safeguard the integrity of company data by configuring firewalls, antivirus software, and other security measures.
- Conduct periodic system maintenance, plan for application upgrades, and provide training to users as needed.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, including network connectivity, software problems, and hardware failures.
- Oversee the configuration and management of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and VPNs.
- Microsoft 365 and AD Administrator.
- Implement and manage security protocols to protect systems and data from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery plans, conduct system audits, and analyze system performance.
- Ensure compliance with data backup protocols and security measures, ensuring Institute data is protected with robust, regularly updated solutions.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in end-user and network support.
- Good technical background in networking (switches, routers, firewalls), Windows and Linux systems, and databases.
- Basic knowledge of programming and scripting is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in computer peripherals, LAN/WAN, and infrastructure knowledge.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable, with good practices in general IT and end-user support.
- Ability to respond promptly to service issues and requests, demonstrating analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capable of collaborating with external parties (stakeholders, vendors, and service providers) to achieve results.
- Proficient in prioritizing tasks effectively and able to work both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in compliance documentation.
