Job Overview
The Laboratory Technician supports laboratory operations and quality assurance activities related to polymer materials. This role is responsible for conducting routine and specialized laboratory tests, assisting with QA/QC testing, maintaining lab resources, and supporting the technical evaluation of polymer products.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct laboratory tests and analyses in line with standard procedures for polymer samples and formulations.
Perform QA/QC testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Manage laboratory inventory, maintain daily logs, and ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
Assist with technical support and update laboratory data with scientific and technical developments.
Perform regular quality assessments on incoming materials, identifying and resolving quality-related issues promptly.
Support the development and review of laboratory work procedures and risk assessments to maintain safety and quality.
Operate laboratory equipment and assist with physical and thermal analysis of polymers (e.g., MFI, DSC, TGA, FTIR) as required.
Maintain laboratory safety standards and contribute to Quality, Health, and Safety management systems.
Job Requirements
ITE or WSQ Diploma in Chemical Technology, Applied Sciences, or a related discipline.
1–2 years of prior experience as a laboratory technician, preferably with exposure to polymer materials.
Knowledge of laboratory safety standards, quality management systems, and QA/QC protocols.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and related software (e.g., Microsoft Office, data analysis tools).
Good attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Effective communication skills and willingness to learn new laboratory techniques and support ongoing projects.
