Job summary
A local resource management company in Singapore seeks a Lab Support Specialist to assist in science lab activities and maintenance at a primary school. Responsibilities include setting up experiments, maintaining equipment, and supporting teachers in practical lessons. Candidates should possess 'N' Level or 'O' Level qualifications, have good interpersonal skills, and ideally 2 years of lab experience. This position involves working hours from Monday to Friday, with breaks and school holiday periods off.
Qualifications
- ‘N’ Level or ‘O’ Level qualifications.
- Preferably at least 2 years of experience working in a science laboratory.
- Good interpersonal skills and a meticulous, organized approach.
Responsibilities
- Set up materials and equipment for daily experiments.
- Assist teachers with troubleshooting in lab sessions.
- Conduct checks on practical sessions and perform safety reviews.

Name of Authority Cantonment Primary School
Contract Period: From 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026.
Option to Extend: a further period of 1 year.
Working Hours: Mondays to Fridays: From 8.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. (inclusive of 30 mins lunch break)
The school operates on a 5‑day work week.
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
Service will not be required during the June and November‑December school holidays, except for periods (e.g. the last week of the school holidays) communicated to the contractor or the personnel deployed.
- Set up materials and equipment for daily experiments and practical exams.
- Ensure all practical sessions in the labs run smoothly. Assist teachers with troubleshooting where possible.
- Conduct occasional checks on ongoing practical sessions.
- Perform safety reviews for labs under your charge every 6 months and provide recommendations to the HOD to improve lab safety.
- Monitor teachers’ usage schedule for the science rooms.
- Assist in the procurement of science equipment and instruments.
- Maintain and service science equipment and apparatus in the lab.
- Maintain inventory records of science lab equipment.
- Assist science teachers in lesson preparation when required.
- Support the maintenance of the science lab, eco pond, sky garden and terrarium.
- Assist in caring for living organisms in the lab (e.g., stick insects, hamsters, fish, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Science Department, sharing experience with the HOD and teachers for planning practical schedules and experiment requirements to enhance students’ learning experience.
- Ensure labs are presentable and ready for guest visits and meetings.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Principal, Vice‑Principal, and HOD/Science.
- Assist teachers in conducting Science Club activities and/or competition training.
