Job scope:

• Provide strategic design leadership and technical guidance to project teams across one or more of the following disciplines, in coordination with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) including Design & Commissioning, Civil, Structural, Architectural (CSA) & Permitting, Building Services (including HVAC), Electrical & Instrumentation, Process Engineering, Construction, and Mechanical, Piping, and Space Management
• Ensure the delivery of detailed design meets business goals, project objectives, and all safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with Capex and Construction Leads to define project scope and align design deliverables with contractor and vendor inputs.
• Contribute design inputs to support funding applications in line with the Project Investment Proposal (PIP) process.
• Oversee design activities through to construction, commissioning, qualification (C&Q), and validation phases as required.
• Develop and manage detailed engineering schedules, ensuring appropriate internal and external resources are allocated to meet deliverable deadlines.
• Ensure all plant and equipment designs comply with applicable design standards and local engineering codes.
• Coordinate with EPCM Work Package and Construction Managers to track construction progress against project timelines.
• Monitor and report on engineering costs versus budget, providing regular updates to Capex and Construction Leads.
• Partner with EPCM Package & Commissioning Managers, C&Q, and Quality teams to develop and implement commissioning and qualification plans, resolve punch list items, and ensure successful commissioning sign-off.
• Oversee project documentation lifecycle, working closely with EPCM package leads and the turnover manager to ensure smooth handover.
• Serve as the project’s construction technical authority, developing and managing construction schedules, and ensuring the availability of resources to safely execute all on-site activities in compliance with the Project Management Framework (PMF).
