Summary of Job Role

Gibson is seeking a Shipping Market Analyst to join the Consultancy & Research team based in Singapore. Candidates should be educated to a degree level and have at least one year’s work experience in an commodities and/or shipping analyst role. The role will partly focus on chemical tankers, making experience in the chemicals sector advantageous. A strong eye for detail, inquisitive nature, and high level of accuracy is essential.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Research, collate and accurately update Gibson’s proprietary databases including freight rates, fixtures and other relevant market information.
  • Support Gibson’s shipbrokers and broking clients research requests, including but not limited to, assembling, organising and distributing data sets, reports, charts, forecasts, preparing presentations and analysis.
  • Compile daily, monthly and weekly market reports.
  • Monitor market developments and communicate these as required to Gibson’s brokers and clients.
  • Give presentations to Gibson's clients and industry conferences on market developments as required, on an international basis.
  • Assist in delivering and developing Gibson’s consulting service.
  • Assist the maintenance and development of Gibson’s forecasting models.
