Project Coordinator
Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a project manager to oversee operations and ensure safety compliance. The role involves managing departmental resources, formulating improvement plans, and conducting site inspections. Candidates must have a diploma in engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience in the mechanical engineering field. Strong communication and team management skills are essential for this position, along with knowledge of safety regulations and practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in the mechanical engineering field.
- Preferably possess a minimum Class 3 Driving license.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and delegating work within the department’s sphere.
- Formulate plans for the expansion/improvement of the department.
- Manage equipment and resources assigned to the department.
- Prepare Work Instructions and Risk Assessment reports.
- Conduct periodic site inspections for compliance with safety measures.

- Liaise with internal department personnel on project-related activities.
- Liaise with customers on job matters.
- Delegate work and control the projects within the budget and schedule.
- Ensure completion dates of projects are met.
- Communicate and carry out the management requirements to subordinates.
- Implement the company IMS system.
- Actively participate in company-organized activities.
- Prepare Work Instructions and RA (Risk Assessment).
- Review adequacy of PPE, safe work practices, and conditions at the site.
- Ensure that the RA is carried out and the control measure is implemented before the commencement of the job, and a Safe Work Procedure is established.
- Ensure that any work that is rated “High Risk” is not to be approved for carrying out.
- Ensure that all employees working on the job are informed of the risks, hazards, and control measures related to the environment, work areas, and tasks.
- Approve the RA under the Manager’s area in the absence of the Project/Production Manager or HSE Coordinator.
- Conduct periodic site inspection, audit, and interview on WSH and EHS measures that are in place and monitor the control measures to ensure the WSH and EHS management system is fully complied with and effective.
- Ensure that productivity indicators are achieved.
- Carry out job safety analysis for the projects.
- Identify the training needs for the projects and subordinates under charge.
- Conduct OJT training for subordinates and peers.
- Act on behalf of the Head of Department in his absence.
- Comply with the requirements and responsibilities as stated in the Risk Assessment (RA) concerning your position in the company, which will be briefed to you.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor
