Our client is a well-known Shipping Brand. Currently, they are looking for a well-qualified candidate to join as Manager (Line/Trade Management).
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Full P&L Responsibility
- Improve cost efficiency and optimize yield by selecting ships with optimal intake, speed, and bunker consumption, and monitoring daily bunker usage to ensure alignment with the Time Charter Description (TCD) and historical data.
- Secure port call berth windows and negotiate terminal contracts, including discounts, rebates, and volume incentives.
- Understand and manage indirect costs thoroughly.
- Manage claims related to cargo, containers, and vessels, consulting legal teams when necessary.
- Strategize trade routes based on market demand and supply analysis, using business intelligence tools for decision-making.
- Expand service coverage to increase frequency or differentiate products, maintaining vessel schedule integrity and providing timely updates to clients.
- Enhance income through space management, cargo selection for yield, and collaborating with marketing on customer deals and tenders.
- Implement rate adjustments like GRI, RR, and CBR in line with cost changes, managing rate quotations and filings.
- Oversee agency operations related to vessel management, cargo bookings, and customer relationships across locations.
- Engage in business development by reviewing existing trade routes and exploring new service opportunities, including feasibility studies for new services or alliances.
- Respond swiftly to operational or business crises with effective decision-making and communication.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, port operators, and partners, staying informed of market changes through various channels.
- Coordinate with supporting departments such as sales, customer service, chartering, operations, legal, finance, and agents to achieve P&L targets.
- Develop long-term perspectives on business prospects and ensure asset readiness for future challenges.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Business or Business Management
- At least 7 years experience in shipping line trade
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel and work beyond regular hours as needed
- Independent, result-oriented, strategic thinker with strong leadership skills
- Ability to analyze situations and make quick decisions supported by data
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written
