Job summary

A leading educational institution in Singapore is seeking a meticulous Payroll Associate/Senior Associate to manage manpower expenditure for research grants and support end-to-end payroll operations. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Human Resources or related fields and have 3–4 years of payroll experience. About the Role

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Payroll Associate / Senior Associate to manage manpower expenditure (EOM) for research grants and support end‑to‑end payroll operations. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with numbers, systems, and cross‑functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
Researcher Grants Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for all manpower expenditure (EOM) matters related to research grants, liaising with both external stakeholders (e.g., grantors and appointed auditors) and internal stakeholders (Finance, Office of Research and Principal Investigators).

  • Ensure accurate and timely submission and audit compliance.
  • Reconcile EOM postings and resolve outstanding charges.
  • Provide support for EOM simulations, grant switches and other grant‑related activities.
  • Respond to and resolve EOM‑related queries from stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update payroll SOPs related to research grants.
Payroll Operations

Support the payroll team in delivering smooth and efficient payroll operations, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with payroll operations such as processing and preparation of payroll related entries.
  • Prepare monthly manual journal postings and ad‑hoc adjustments due to late instructions or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Manage and process employee benefits claims accurately and promptly.
  • Support payroll system enhancements, including participating in system testing (UAT) and enhancement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resource, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, or related fields.
  • Preferably 3–4 years of payroll experience in Singapore.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and experience with manual journal entries is an advantage.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
  • The successful candidate will be appointed at an appropriate grade based on qualifications and experience.
