Overview
We are looking for a Process Engineer to join the Shedgum Gas Plant Department.
SHGP was brought on stream in 1981. The plant's current processing capacity is 2.5 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD) of associated and non-associated gas. The plant produces NGL, Ethane, Sales Gas, and Liquid Sulfur.
Your primary role will be providing technical support to operating facilities, projects, technology deployment, and talent development of new process engineers. Candidates should have relevant documented experience in the gas processing field, specializing in areas such as Amine Sweetening, Sulfur Recovery, Dehydration, NGL recovery, Water Treatment, or Steam/Power generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle process activities such as studies and design modifications in the operating facilities.
- Develop simulation models for assigned operational facilities.
- Develop, review, and validate plant mass balances.
- Check plant performance to ensure it operates according to its design.
- Identify opportunities to optimize operations and implement improvements.
- Use software simulation programs such as HYSYS and ProMax.
- Provide technical direction/support to design contractors both within and outside the Kingdom.
- Formulate and implement long-term strategies to improve operations and reduce costs.
- Lead engineering teams during shutdowns and start-ups of existing plants.
- Participate in standards reviews to ensure practical benefits for field operation and maintenance regarding safety and efficiency.
- Contribute to standards development through technical committees, interpret standards, and recommend cost-effective changes.
- Develop and execute implementation plans for critical recommendations.
- Ensure proper execution of implementation plans and propagate improvements to other systems.
- Lead health, safety, and environmental studies.
- Lead energy optimization and conservation studies.
- Initiate process safety relief audits.
- Lead water conservation studies.
- Manage changes through MOC processes.
- Verify system performance post-implementation of recommendations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in gas processing operations within the Oil/Gas industry.
- Proficiency with simulation software such as HYSYS and ProMax; strong knowledge of engineering practices, standards, and economic principles.
- Extensive experience in design, modifications, standards review, and study evaluation.
