Technical Architect (SAP S/4HANA Implementation)
Job Summary
The Technical Architect is responsible for the design, implementation, and oversight of the technical landscape for SAP S/4HANA transformation program in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role ensures that all technical components—including infrastructure, integrations, custom developments, and security—are aligned with enterprise IT standards, performance needs, and compliance requirements.
The Technical Architect provides expertise across SAP Basis, development (ABAP, Fiori/UI5), integration middleware, and infrastructure, working closely with the Solution Architect to deliver a robust, secure, and scalable SAP environment. The role requires a strong hands-on background in SAP technology stacks, cloud/on-premise hybrid landscapes, and technical governance.

Key Responsibilities
- Define the technical architecture and landscape for SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment with IT strategy.
- Oversee SAP Basis activities including installation, upgrades, patching, transport management, and system refreshes.
- Design and govern custom development frameworks, ensuring ABAP, Fiori, and extensions follow SAP best practices and are upgrade-safe.
- Lead the integration architecture across SAP modules, legacy systems, and third-party applications.
- Ensure system security, user provisioning, and compliance with segregation of duties (SoD) and regulatory policies.
- Support data migration and conversion activities, ensuring data quality, performance, and cutover readiness.
- Provide performance tuning, troubleshooting, and technical support across the landscape.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to ensure system availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
- Work closely with the Solution Architect to ensure technical feasibility of solution decisions.
- Document technical standards, guidelines, and operating procedures for future operations.
- Mentor technical consultants and ensure cross-team knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- SAP Certified Technology Associate (Basis/NetWeaver/S/4HANA) required.
- SAP Certified Development Associate (ABAP, Fiori/UI5) desirable.
- Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP) preferred.
- ITIL Foundation certification desirable.
Experience
- 10–12 years of SAP technical experience, including at least 3 full-cycle S/4HANA implementations.
- Strong expertise in SAP Basis administration and system architecture.
- Hands-on experience with ABAP development, Fiori/UI5, CDS, OData services.
- Proven track record in integration design using CPI, PI/PO, or middleware platforms.
- Experience in managing hybrid landscapes (on-prem + cloud hosting/RISE with SAP).
- Familiarity with KSA cybersecurity and compliance requirements highly desirable.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA technical architecture and infrastructure.
- Expertise in transport management, system copies, upgrades, and patching.
- Familiarity with automation tools for monitoring and DevOps practices in SAP.
- Knowledge of authorizations, GRC, and security design principles.
- Strong experience with data migration tools (SAP DMC, LTMC, BODS).
- Familiarity with analytics, SAP BTP extensions, and mobility solutions.

- Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership in managing technical teams and vendors.
- Ability to handle high-pressure cutover and go-live scenarios.

Work Environment & Conditions
- Based in KSA, working closely with IT and business teams.
- Requires flexibility for cutover weekends, patching schedules, and hypercare support.
- Collaboration with Solution Architect, Infrastructure, Security, and Development teams.
