Transaction Banking (TB) offers essential banking products and services for corporate clients, including channels and accounts for Trade & Supply Chain Finance and Cash Management.
This encompasses liquidity management, payments, collections, trade and supply chain finance.
As Vice President, Transaction Banking in Kuala Lumpur, you will lead the success of core banking products for corporate customers. Your role involves building strong client relationships to understand their trade and supply chain finance and cash management needs while identifying growth opportunities. You’ll develop strategic account plans aligned with business objectives and collaborate with internal teams to execute them effectively. Acting as a trusted advisor, you’ll recommend innovative solutions based on market trends and ensure seamless client experiences. Additionally, you’ll manage risk and compliance requirements while fostering an open culture where concerns are addressed appropriately.
Drive TB sales with internal stakeholder support to achieve revenue growth, representing the Bank in client and industry engagements.
Manage TB relationships with existing and target clients, developing proposals to meet customer needs and identifying opportunities to enhance TB revenue.
Develop and execute TB Account Planning and client sales pipelines efficiently.
Serve as the contact for TB transactions, discussing technical and operational transaction aspects.
Identify product gaps or opportunities for new products/services through cost‑effective channels.
Understand and comply with risk and compliance requirements, addressing concerns and resolving issues.
Support active TB portfolio management as needed.
Knowledge of working capital, credit background, and Trade Operations is advantageous.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in similar roles within reputable financial institutions. You have demonstrated success in driving business development initiatives with deep familiarity in trade finance products (e.g., letters of credit) and advanced cash management solutions (e.g., liquidity pooling). Strong analytical abilities allow you to assess complex client requirements quickly while proposing tailored solutions. Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is essential for engaging diverse clients. A collaborative approach ensures seamless teamwork internally, while your attention to detail upholds best practices around risk mitigation and compliance.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with technical expertise in trade finance and cash management products.
At least five years’ experience in trade or cash sales roles within financial services demonstrating consistent success in business development.
Comprehensive knowledge of risk profiles, regulatory frameworks, and portfolio management practices related to transaction banking.
Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese for effective communication across diverse markets an advantage.
Strong understanding of local/international banking products relevant to transaction banking services.
Proven ability to develop account plans, manage sales pipelines efficiently, and deliver results against ambitious targets.
Excellent interpersonal skills to build trust‑based relationships with clients while collaborating effectively across functions.
