Job Title: Senior Instrumentation & Systems Integration Engineer (Automation)

Employment Type: Permanent

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, normal office hours

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Instrumentation & Systems Integration Engineer to lead automation and IT/OT integration initiatives within oil & gas operations. Instrumentation, control systems, MES, and industrial networking support system reliability and digital transformation across upstream and downstream facilities.

You will work closely with engineering, operations, IT, and cybersecurity teams to connect field systems with enterprise and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain instrumentation, DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems
• Lead IT/OT integration projects, ensuring secure and reliable data flow
• Implement and optimize Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
• Design and maintain industrial networks (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, secure remote access)
• Integrate field instruments, control systems, MES, historians, and cloud applications
• Support system diagnostics, alarm management, and performance optimization
• Ensure compliance with ISA-95, IEC 62443, and OT cybersecurity standards
• Prepare technical documentation and system architecture designs
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Strong experience in automation, instrumentation, and systems integration within oil & gas
• Hands‑on experience with DCS/PLC/SCADA (Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, Siemens PCS 7, etc.)
• Knowledge of MES systems, OPC UA, MQTT, and industrial data integration
• Solid understanding of industrial networking and OT cybersecurity fundamentals
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) in industrial environments
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
