Job description
Overview

Oversee and ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Department, including Drug Store (DST) and Central Drug Repository (CDR) services.

Review and evaluate new drug requests from medical practitioners, and provide recommendations to the Pharmacy Head of Department and Drugs & Therapeutics Subcommittee for inclusion or exclusion from the Hospital Drug Formulary.

Manage inventory levels to maintain healthy stock holding, minimize wastage, and achieve targeted stock-holding parameters.

Plan and monitor stock expiry, variances, and usage trends, and support the department in operating within the approved budget.

Lead, train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of Drug Store and CDR staff, including work scheduling, task allocation, and prioritization.

Participate in departmental planning and budgeting for Drug Store and CDR operational requirements.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmaceutical developments, clinical pharmacy practices, and relevant government regulations.

Provide accurate and timely drug information to medical practitioners, healthcare professionals, and members of the public.

Ensure proper storage, control, documentation, and supply of Psychotropic, Dangerous, and Controlled Drugs in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements
  • Degree in Pharmacy (Recognized by the Malaysian Pharmacy Board)
  • Passed Pharmacy Forensic Examination
  • Member of the Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MMPS)
  • Registered with the Pharmacy Board Malaysia
  • Possesses a valid Annual Retention Certificate & type A Poison License
  • Minimum 2 years working in a hospital pharmacy with experience in inventory management
