Lecturer (Nursing) (Specialisation: Gerontology, Pediatrics & Peri-Anesthesia)

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Lecturer (Nursing) with specialisation in Gerontology, Pediatrics, and Peri-Anesthesia to deliver high-quality academic and clinical education, support student development, and uphold academic and professional standards.

Academic & Teaching Responsibilities
  • Take charge of assigned student groups or academic semesters.

  • Conduct all assigned teaching and learning activities, including lectures, laboratories, and clinical sessions.

  • Prepare and deliver quality course materials such as syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and learning resources.

  • Facilitate engaging classroom discussions and student-centred learning.

  • Stay current with developments in nursing practice and education through continuous professional development.

  • Assess, evaluate, and grade students’ academic, laboratory, and clinical performance.

  • Collaborate with academic colleagues to plan and implement the academic calendar and learning activities.

  • Coordinate study visits and practical learning experiences aligned with programme outcomes.

Clinical Supervision & Student Development
  • Supervise and assess students during clinical and laboratory placements.

  • Conduct clinical assessments in accordance with programme and Nursing Board Malaysia requirements.

  • Provide mentoring, tutorials, and academic support to students.

  • Monitor student attendance, academic progress, clinical logbooks, and contact hours.

  • Identify and support students who do not meet academic or clinical requirements.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to enhance student performance and learning outcomes.

Examinations & Assessments
  • Implement formative and summative assessments according to course proforma.

  • Prepare and submit quality examination questions to the Examination Committee.

  • Ensure integrity and confidentiality of written and practical examinations.

  • Invigilate examinations in accordance with examination policies.

  • Participate as an examiner for the Nursing Board Malaysia when appointed.

  • Prepare and submit required documentation for Nursing Board Malaysia registration examinations.

Student Services & Welfare
  • Coordinate emergency, medical, and compassionate leave for students.

  • Maintain accurate records of student leave and medical certifications.

  • Enforce student discipline in line with college and Nursing Board Malaysia regulations.

  • Provide counselling and pastoral support to students when required.

  • Ensure students receive entitled medical benefits.

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate co-curricular activities.

Administrative & Institutional Responsibilities
  • Uphold and implement the college’s vision, mission, policies, and decisions.

  • Plan, organise, and coordinate learning and clinical experiences.

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on student matters.

  • Participate in training programmes, meetings, committees, and college events.

  • Assist in graduation ceremonies, orientation programmes, and student recruitment activities.

  • Support curriculum review, examination processes, and programme development.

  • Assist in procurement and maintenance of teaching and learning resources.

  • Support marketing, student interviews, and sponsorship or parent communication when required.

Quality Assurance
  • Actively support quality assurance initiatives and accreditation requirements.

  • Promote a culture of excellence in teaching, learning, and clinical training.

  • Ensure compliance with institutional quality systems, policies, and procedures.

Requirements
  • Degree in Nursing or related field (specialisation in Gerontology, Pediatrics or Peri-Anesthesia preferred).

  • Relevant teaching and/or clinical experience. (at least 5 years)

  • With Post Basic Certificate

  • Registered with Nursing Board Malaysia (where applicable).

  • Strong communication, mentoring, and organisational skills.
