Job summary

A semiconductor manufacturing company in Kedah is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee month-end closing activities and manage the finance department. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably with accounting qualifications like CIMA or ACCA. Responsibilities include reviewing manual journals, managing corporate finance functions, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to drive finance-related projects forward.

Job description
  1. Oversee and monitor overall month end closing (MEC) activities and period closing for completeness and timeliness.
  2. Review and approve manual journals at month end with appropriate and complete supporting documentation.
  3. Manage day to day operations of the corporate finance and treasury function from account payable, account receivable, treasury and general ledger and reporting in supporting the organization.
  4. Propose, plan and implement projects to enhance process flow for finance.
  5. As a coordinator with other departments on any finance related projects.
  6. Ensure all accounting policies and procedures are properly documented and implemented.
  7. Responsible for tax and audit related matters.
  8. Facilitate the monthly closing activities.
  9. Carry out month-end reporting to management and shareholders.
  10. Ensure financial system integration to General Ledger as well as the sub-ledger integrity.
  11. Review Balance Sheet, Cash flow, Bank Reconciliation components to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  12. Assist superior on ad-hoc basis in preparation of analysis and presentation materials.
  13. Involvement in system implementation and carry out continuous system improvements as well as preparation of policies and procedures to enhance controls.
  14. Handle company Operation insurance matters.
  15. Assist Finance Vice President to oversee the smooth running of the Finance Department.
  16. Assists in the preparation of Boards Papers for the Board of Directors meeting.
  17. Manage and collaborate with external and internal auditors.
  18. Manage ad hoc requests from internal or external stakeholders.
  19. Lead and drive any projects as assigned to meet organization’s goal.
Job Requirements
Education required:

Minimum bachelor’s degree in related field

Preferably in Accounting or professional qualification like CIMA/ACCA or equivalent / MIA member
