Job summary

A governmental energy authority in Malaysia is seeking a qualified legal professional with a Bachelor of Laws. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience, be well-versed in various areas of law including contract and corporate law, and possess strong analytical and communication skills. Knowledge of energy policy and the regulatory framework is an advantage. This is a critical role focused on providing legal advice and drafting documents to support the authority's mission.

Technical Requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor of Laws - LL.B (Hons)
  • At least 2 years of working experience in a similar environment, preferably in-house experience
  • Well versed in contract law, company law, corporate law, land law and preferably familiar with the energy law in Malaysia
  • Knowledge on energy policy, electricity supply industry and sustainable energy policy in Malaysia would be highly advantageous
  • Familiar with the government regulatory frameworks
  • Able to draft and review legal documents
  • Able to provide legal opinion and advise on all areas of law
  • Able to identify legal issues and provide solutions from legal perspective
  • Knowledge in drafting and reviewing any principal, subsidiary and amending legislations
  • Able to conduct research or studies on legal matters
