A leading global financial services firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Derivatives Operations Associate/Analyst to manage operational processes for FX and Derivatives transactions. Welcome to JPMorgan Chase. Are you looking for an opportunity to work in the Asia‑Pacific Derivatives Hub team? You have found the right team.

As a Derivatives Operations Associate / Analyst within the FX & OTC Derivatives Operations team, you will manage operational processes related to confirmations and settlement of FX and Derivatives transactions. You will support a global, diverse client base, performing affirmation, settlement, client money daily segregation, credit event management, client valuations, regulatory reporting, and tax reporting. You will facilitate transaction execution via a best‑in‑class systematic control framework, integrating risk systems (Athena, GPS, Kapital, Pyramid) with vendor platforms (DTCC, TIW, Markitwire, Thunderhead). Your responsibilities will include confirmation matching and chasing, client service and break resolution, processing FX/Derivatives transactions, maintaining client and business reference data, supporting Front Office sales and Middle Office, and managing inter‑regional stakeholders. You will also participate in process review and uplift.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure all trades are correct and accurately matched in a timely and risk‑free manner.
  • Ensure all payments are processed correctly and settled within cut‑off times.
  • Provide the highest of customer service standards to external clients and internal partners/stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with middle office, sales and operations teams around the globe.
  • Ensure all controls and checks are completed by the end of day and day‑to‑day compliance with internal SLAs.
  • Resolve outstanding breaks in the Nostro/Wash accounts, performing root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Analyze and re‑engineer existing processes.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Derivatives Operations within the banking industry.
  • Good interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Excellent relationship‑building and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to cope in a high‑pressure environment with time‑critical deliveries while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify, understand, and address operational‑related issues.
  • Control mindset to identify process control gaps, prioritize, and mitigate operational risk.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience with an investment banking environment, preferably in Back Office.
  • Experience with handling external clients.
