Job summary

A leading infrastructure firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a skilled professional to manage and design data center infrastructure. Responsibilities include planning layouts, working with vendors, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years' experience in critical data center environments, familiarity with AutoCAD and Visio, and knowledge of data center best practices. This is a 12-month contract with remote work options available and salary open for negotiation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a critical data center environment.
  • Familiar with BMS / EPMS systems.
  • Experience preparing MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage data center white space, including rack layouts and power distribution.
  • Develop Basis of Design (BOD) documents.
  • Maintain site documents such as floor plans and cable matrices.

This role focuses on designing, planning, and managing data center infrastructure, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The candidate will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and colocation providers to deliver high-quality data center designs and projects.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a critical data center environment
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Visio
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work well in a team
  • Knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure
  • Experience in vendor management
  • Understanding of cabling standards and best practices
  • Able to read electrical one-line diagrams
  • Familiar with BMS / EPMS systems
  • Experience preparing MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs
  • Knowledge of Data Center PUE
  • Able to read blueprints and technical documents
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage data center white space, including rack layouts, containment, cabling, and power distribution
  • Work with colocation providers and internal teams to define and deliver design requirements
  • Develop Basis of Design (BOD) documents
  • Ensure infrastructure requirements are clearly met
  • Support creation and maintenance of data center documentation
  • Research new designs, materials, and construction methods
  • Maintain site documents such as floor plans, rack elevations, and cable matrices
  • Review RFI, RFP, and RFQ submissions
  • Support development of global data center standards
  • Travel to data center sites for engineering assessments
