The Costing Officer is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate cost data to support pricing decisions, budgeting, and financial planning. This role ensures the company’s cost records are up-to-date and provides insights to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
1. Product Costing & Analysis
- Prepare product costing, including materials, labour, overheads, and logistics.
- Review and update Bill of Materials (BOM) and standard cost regularly.
- Conduct variance analysis between actual cost vs standard cost.
- Analyze cost changes and their impact on pricing and profitability.
2. Cost Control & Monitoring
- Monitor production cost, wastage, and efficiency levels.
- Verify material consumption and reconcile against production reports.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and areas of improvement.
- Assist in monthly closing activities related to costing.
3. Pricing Support
- Provide costing data for quotation, tender, and new product development.
- Liaise with Sales, Production, and R&D teams to validate pricing structure.
- Maintain price list and costing records for management reference.
4. Reporting
- Prepare weekly/monthly costing reports and dashboards.
- Report cost variances, margin analysis, and key cost indicators.
- Present cost findings and recommendations to management.
5. Cross-Department Coordination
- Work closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse, and Finance teams.
- Support internal/external audits by providing costing and stock‑related information.
- Ensure AutoCount configurations comply with company SOP and accounting standards.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, Costing, or related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in costing/inventory control.
- Hands‑on experience with AutoCount Accounting is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of costing methods (FIFO, WA, Standard Costing).
- Good analytical, problem‑solving & Excel skills.
- Detail‑oriented and able to work under pressure during month‑end closing.

- Familiarity with BOM, work order, or production modules in AutoCount.
- Knowledge of inventory management and internal controls.
